I was extremely blessed to see so many husbands on with their wives as well as moms with their teen daughters participating together! Swipe right to see so many beautiful faces! Looking at our BECOMING stories in light of the frameworks of the ancient cities of Gilgal, Bethel, and Jerusalem brought great clarity to so many aspects of our own journeys in Christ. I’ll be teaching tonight’s BECOMING collective about the Biblical frameworks that help us understand how to cycle in grace through practices of faith in the context of our own trying circumstances. #cyclesofgrace #12toolsofbecoming #becomingus
Epic trip to Israel w/ @mcelroyerica. The main purpose of the trip was bringing a little boy from Guatemala who needed brain surgery to Israel, so that our dear friend and neurosurgeon @dr.kershe could perform it. It was marvelous to be a part of witnessing the glory of God flowing through this assembly of human souls for the healing of a little one. This experience in Israel was in every way representative of transformation unto glory by grace through activities of faith. From the surgery to the honeybees of Mt. Hermon to the abundance of ripe pomegranates, to the way we were guided by @jeffcuozzo, this trip revealed the glory that comes when God’s people work together for good according to their gifts and callings. In our BECOMING classes this week, we are looking at what it means to “Ascend to Jerusalem” or to return to a place of peace, wholeness, and abundance. All through the Bible we find frameworks intended to teach us the WAY of maturing in our Christian walk. No matter if you use the blueprint of Jerusalem city, the Gardener’s seed cycle of grace, the Judicial circuit of Samuel, or David’s psalms of Ascent, we find a clear pattern that begins with a divine exchange in humility, continues in a step-by-step movement by faith, and ends in a glorious transformation by grace.
“Stop, listen, and consider the wondrous works of God.” (Job 37:14) The word teaches that if we would take time to consider the hand of God in the many wonders of His creation - by inquiring of Him, learning about our life in Him, and praising His name in response to these wonders, then we would become more like Him in character. But when we are moving too quickly, keeping our minds ever-occupied by ruminating on our worries instead of entrusting them to God, we miss the glory all around us and remain stuck. Don’t let the cares of this world keep you blind to the glory of God that invites you into Believing, BECOMING, and Belonging more in His love, power, and glory. Consider the glory of a child’s face, the power of ocean waves, the movement of a hummingbird’s wings, the beauty given to a fading flower, the intricate and varietal design of each snowflake, the bee community producing honey, the fertile soil of the valley, and the majesty of mountain heights.... It all speaks of the Creator and life in Him. Romans 1:20-21. These things are meant to draw us toward His love for us and teach us lessons about our own BECOMING story. A BECOMING that is made possible by His son Jesus who came, died, and rose again to reconnect us to the treasure troves of heaven’s glory! If you believe in Jesus, then pull down heaven’s riches of peace and joy by taking time to consider God’s love for you through the gift of wonder within you! #becomingus #cyclesofgrace #12toolsofbecoming
